Hosted at the historic Herkimer College — three courts all within the same building for easy access and walkability. With the cheapest fees around, our tournaments deliver great value for single teams and multi-grade organizations alike. What Bringing A Team Here Looks Like
Everything a visiting coach wants to know before entering a team — the format, the building, and what your weekend actually looks like.
Three courts, one building
Every MVE tournament is played at Herkimer College on three courts inside a single building. Nobody drives between sites mid-day, parents with two kids in different divisions can watch both, and a rain delay never becomes a logistics problem. Warm-ups, scorer's table and seating are all within sight of each other.
There is a concession stand on site, so nobody has to leave the building between games to feed a family.
Format & seeding
Boys grades 5 through Varsity. Every team is guaranteed two games, with a possible third championship game depending on pool seeding. Entry is $185 per team — among the lowest in the region, because MVE is a 501(c)(3) and the fee covers costs rather than profit.
Full rules, including pool seeding and tiebreakers, are posted a week before the event so every coach has them well ahead of the first tip.
Officials & game rules
Games are worked by certified officials — not parents with whistles. Game length and the rule set for each division are published with the rules a week out.
Travel & where teams come from
Teams travel in from across Upstate New York for these events. Herkimer sits directly on the NYS Thruway, which puts it inside a comfortable drive of Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton and the North Country — a large part of why teams from those markets make the trip.

Questions From Visiting Coaches
How many games are guaranteed?
Two games are guaranteed for every team, with a possible third championship game depending on pool seeding.
What grades and divisions do you run?
Boys grades 5 through Varsity. Divisions are set once entries close, so that each bracket is competitive rather than lopsided.
What does it cost to enter a team?
$185 per team. Mohawk Valley Elite is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so entry fees go toward running the event — officials, the facility and awards — rather than to the directors.
How do we pay, and when is payment due?
We accept every common payment type — card, check and electronic transfer. Tell us what is easiest for your program and we will send it that way.
When are schedules released?
Schedules go out three days before the event, so you can arrange travel and tell your families when to be in the gym.
What happens at check-in?
Check in at the front door 30 minutes before your first game. That is enough time to get your team settled without sitting around all morning.
