The Program

Who MVE Is

Founded in 2016 by John Wallace, Steve Heitz, and Mike Adey, and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024. EIN 99-0948552. This is the 11th season. Spring travel is boys, grades 5–11, with 12th grade by invitation. Rosters are capped at 8–10 players, with one coach assigned to that team only. The season runs early March through late May, some teams into the first week of June, with six tournaments per team.

In 2026 the 16U team, coached by James Healy, won both the Zero Gravity National Finals and Made Hoops Nationals.

Practices and hosted events use Herkimer College (100 Reservoir Road, Herkimer, NY), plus Herkimer High School, the Borza Recreation Center, and Elevate CNY. MVE is a service-area program, not a walk-in office at the college. Read the program story.

Spring circuit

Each team plays six tournaments in the spring, including regional events in Albany and Syracuse and at least one longer trip. Last season, every team traveled to Spooky Nook in Pennsylvania.

Film and highlights go out on the program’s Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. There is no public film library on this site.

Events MVE hosts

MVE hosts tournaments at Herkimer College — three courts in one building. Boys grades 5 through Varsity, $185 per team, two games guaranteed. Two events are planned. Dates are not announced yet.

Tournament details and interest forms. The Drive shows practice gyms, published tournament destinations, and the towns players come from.

The Ask

Request A Player’s Profile

This page does not list current players. Names, grades, photos, measurables, academics, and contact details for players still in the program stay off the public site. If you are a college coach evaluating someone who has played for MVE, ask the program for that profile.
